January '26 Meeting
Our January meeting is now in the books. Thanks to all that were able to make it out, and check out our new shack! A lot of hard work by many has been put into this project. We are forever grateful to the Farmers Volunteer Fire Department who have graciously allowed us to use their facilities!

On 1/6/25 the Morehead Amateur Radio Society met for it's regularly scheduled meeting. During the meeting, several items were discussed:
State of Ham Shack and Tower (see photo above)
Winter Field Day (January 24th-25th). We plan to set up the evening of the 23rd. Winter Field Day officially starts at 1100 hours on January 24th and runs for 30 consecutive hours
Election of 2026 MARS Officers. Congrats to Bob Peterson (AD4Y) for stepping into the President Role. Danny Dantzler (W0JMP) our 2025 President has transitioned to Secretary, replacing Carol Fraley Laferty-Dantzler (K4SAF) after many years of service. Justin Reynolds (KY0KSP) and Toby Gardner (KF4LHN) will maintain their current positions as Vice President and Treasurer respectively.
Toby Gardner provided the current treasurer report. As a reminder, 2026 club dues are now due
Outgoing President, Danny provided an update on upcoming DX Expeditions, and some rare opportunities to work entities such as Bouvet Island!
Incoming President, Bob decided with the Winter Field Day being so close to our regularly scheduled February meeting that we would forgo a February meeting.
